New Female Centered Potential Spider-Man Movie From Sony Sounds Like It Could Be....Good????

MASSIVE THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 SPOILERS FOLLOW
A ton of things have been wasted in the Amazing Spider-Man films (primarily in the second one, though the first one wasted opportunities to lend gravitas to The Lizard), but Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy may be the biggest waste. She and Andrew Garfield had good chemistry, but those romantic scenes in the second one, while sporadically engaging, were bogged down by plodding repetition.

By the time she bit the dust, I greeted it with a yawn. She just had so little of actual worth to do in the feature despite how much the story revolved her, it was really painful to see all that potential  go to waste. But a new report from Badass Digest suggests maybe, just maybe, something interesting is headed our way in terms of Gwen Stacy. One of the many, many ideas Sony is tossing around right now to salvage the franchise is a film currently called Glass Ceiling  that would bring together four pivotal characters from the Spider-Man universe, Silk, Silver Sable, Black and Spider-Girl, for a cinematic adventure.

Considering that we don't know what plot would bring these four together, let alone if this thing is actually gonna happen, it's hard to conjure up too much of an opinion about this film. But I do like the idea of Spider-Girl, mainly for speculative reasons over who could be that particular character. Ya see, recent comics have had someone else besides Peter Parker get bitten by that legendary radioactive spider. That person was Gwen Stacy, who became Spider-Girl (I prefer the name Spider-Gwen, but whatever) and the idea of Emma Stone swinging around the city, kicking ass and changing the world in a Spider-Man suit sounds great to me. It'd be an awesome way to make up for wasting her character in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, and give us some cool storytelling possibilities.

We shall see if this goes through; Sony did previously announce a female centered Spider-Man feature for 2017, though they didn't specify who it would revolve around. This may just fit the bill, though we'll see if my dreams of an Emma Stone led Spider-Man film can become a similar reality.
