Tom Hiddleston As Loki Will Return In Avengers: Age of Ultron!

You want to protect the world
But you don't want it to change
These ominous words are spoken by Ultron within the trailer for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and they do a superbly effective way of reminding one how much impact each of the individual heroes have had on the world at large. Since teaming up to protect New York, the Presidents been kidnapped, an Infinity Stone almost destroyed reality itself and HYDRA forces have come up again. The influence of Iron Man and the like are felt in numerous positive ways...but they also can have negative consequences on those they care about.
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is apparently widening the scope of the film, and it seems pretty apparent, even before this specific news dropped, that we'd get to see how the teaming up for the first Avengers films and subsequent escapades had affected those near and dear to the likes of Captain America and Black Widow. Tony Starks best pal, James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) was not only confirmed to be in the movie ages ago, but he also got a funny one-liner in the extended trailer, while Hayley Atwell has been confirmed to be reprising her role as Captain America's WWII sweetheart Peggy Carter in a flashback sequence (that I think was glimpsed at in the teaser trailer). Although it hasn't been confirmed, I'd wager there's a good chance Anthony Mackie as Captain America's modern day buddy Sam Wilson (also known as The Falcon) makes a cameo of sorts in the film as well.

Now it is official. We will see some of Thor's companions in the feature as well. Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba will reprise their roles as Loki and Heimdall. Hiddleston has a huge fanbase for his portrayal of Loki, and it's hard not to see why. The enthusiasm he brings to the performance really makes hi ma stand out villain in modern cinema and does wonders for making the character so engaging. I'm also glad Elba gets to be around in this adventure, simple because A) Heimdall is awesome (did you see him take out that Dark Elf ship in Thor: The Dark World?) and B) any time a Idris Elba gets to appear in a new movie is a cause for celebration.

It'll be interesting to see how the work of Ultron impacts people like Loki, Wilson and Rhodes. Like the Earth itself, will they and others change in noticable ways while being protected from malicious forces? Only time will tell.
